New chapter, new beginnings

Today marks a new chapter in my life as I have had a lot go on during the last few months.  Recently, I have been dealing with a break-up from a guy that I really cared about.  The past few weeks have been the worst because I was the one who initiated the break-up and it wasn’t really his fault.  My ex is a man who really cares deeply for others but he tends to be overly generous to even those who treat him horribly.  While this makes him one of the best people to be around, it is difficult because it has also affected me in negative ways.

I am selfish for wanting to remove the negative feelings out of my life but I just want to have more experiences in my life.  We were both in two different stages and wanted different things in life.  I wish him every bit of happiness and hope that he finds a wonderful person to make him the happiest man ever someday.

I now live in the beautiful city of San Francisco and I hope to expand my horizons further while living here.  These last few years have been very difficult and full of failures but now I feel like my life is becoming much better and full of life.  Each day brings a new friend or experience that I needed in my life.   This is going to be a positive chapter in my life that will allow me to live the life I want.  I wish for everyone to go through challenges in order to become stronger and happier in the end.

Best wishes on your life adventures!  🙂

Microwave angel food cake

Sooooo…..I love food.  I lived in an on-campus dorm for 4 and a half years and we only had a mini-fridge and microwave for most of the cooking.  I learned to make many different dishes in the microwave and now I want to share them.

The first dish that I want for this section is that of angel food cake.  It is super easy to make in the microwave and omg-amazing!

Ingredients

-6 tablespoons Angel food cake box mix

-2-3 tablespoons of water

-Dixie cup

Instructions

Make sure the microwave is cleaned out and prepared.  Place Angel food cake mix in the Dixie cup and mix in the water.  Place in microwave for about 10-20 seconds at a time until fully cooked.  Wait about 5 minutes to cool and enjoy!

This is my first segment of microwave cooking with a basic recipe but I plan to have more recipes in the future for those on-the-go.

Let me know what you think!

Hawaii: A place of new beginnings

I came back from the island of Maui a week ago with a calm mind and new outlook on life.  I decided to take a new approach with my writing and focus on the positive aspects of life.  There is so much negativity going on in the media and I want to have a place of sanctuary for those who need some optimism in their lives.

Maui has changed me forever and I hope to take my experiences with me wherever I go.  The island was full of life and relaxation that cannot be matched.  I highly recommend Kaanapali beach to anyone who seeks surfing and soft sand under their feet.  It was full of relaxing waves and a Hawaiian breeze that blew worries away.

In contrast to Kaanapali beach, my family ventured to Wailea.  While Kaanapali had many tourists and wonderful sights, Wailea was quieter.  For our location, we had the disappearing edge pool near the ocean at the Wailea Marriott.  I highly recommend this resort for couples as there were many honeymooners and babymooners there with us.  My plan is to return to both locations someday in order to relive these memories.
